A fatal hit-and-run crash killed a 45-year-old woman in the Westmont neighborhood of South Los Angeles on Sunday night, August 28, 2022.
The pedestrian was discovered unresponsive just before 9 p.m. at Western Avenue and 92nd Street.
She was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead. She has yet to be identified.
A disabled walker was discovered abandoned on the intersection’s edge. Joe Fruge, the victim’s friend, claimed she used it to get around.
He stated that he heard the crash and went outside to investigate.
According to Fruge, the driver killed a wonderful woman.
According to police, the vehicle that hit the woman was driving southbound on Western Avenue when it struck her and then sped away.
There have been no arrests, and police have no description of the suspect vehicle.
The crash is still being investigated.
