[08-28-2022] 76-year-old Man Suffered Injuries after a Hit-and-Run Accident in BreaA 76-year-old man was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run accident in Brea on Sunday evening, August 28, 2022.

The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. close to the on-ramp from westbound Imperial Highway to the northbound 57 Freeway.

According to police officials, the victim parked for an unknown reason and was struck while crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk.

The local authorities took him to the hospital for surgery.

According to witnesses, the vehicle that caused the accident was an older model gray Lexus sedan.

The driver is still at large.

There were no known potential suspects at the time.

While the investigation is ongoing, the westbound lanes of Imperial Highway from State College Boulevard to the 57 Freeway are closed, as is the northbound on-ramp to that freeway from Imperial Highway west.
