[08-28-2022] San Bernardino County, CA – 33-Year-Old Enrique M. Fatally Struck in a Traffic Crash on US Highway 395

According to officials, 33-year-old Enrique M. was killed following a traffic collision in Adelanto on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

The accident occurred around 1:19 p.m. at US Highway 395 and Chamberlaine Way intersection.

When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered Meza trapped inside a silver 2018 Chevrolet Malibu.

According to sheriff’s officials, Meza was extricated by the fire department and transported to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The 18-year-old driver of the white, older model Toyota Tacoma was identified as Apolinar L. of Adelanto.

Apolinar was driving north on 395 when he ran a red light at the intersection of Chamberlain Way. Enrique was crossing the highway eastbound when his vehicle was broadsided by Meza’s vehicle.

Deputy L. Torres of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team lead the investigation (M.A.I.T.). Distracted driving was suspected of having been a factor in the collision.

Enrique’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses. According to the description, Enrique left behind his wife, Becca, and two beautiful daughters, Bells and Rosie Meza.

According to the account organizer, Sharon Cabrera, Meza had his entire future ahead of him. His family was his top priority, and he was the best husband and father.

The crash is to be further investigated.
