[08-28-2022] One Person Killed, Another Injured in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in HesperiaThe San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said that the person who died was a 24-year-old man, but the identity of the man riding the BMW motorcycle won’t be known until his family is notified.

It occurred around 9:12 a.m. on August 28, 2022, west of Rainbow Bridge Road on State Highway 138.

It was also identified that the crash involved a white 2014 BMW S1000RR motorcycle and a white 2022 Toyota Camry.

A news release from the sheriff’s office said that the Camry was going east on Highway 138, while the BMW and the driver of a Honda motorcycle were going west.

For some unknown reason, the BMW motorcycle went into the other lane of traffic and hit the Toyota head-on. The rider was killed by his injuries, and the San Bernardino County Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene.

After the accident, the driver of the Honda motorcycle fell off his bike and broke his leg. Firefighters asked for a helicopter to land in the yard of a nearby ranch, and then a Mercy Air 22 helicopter took him to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

According to the California Highway Patrol, two motorcycles and a car collided, killing one rider and seriously injuring another in Hesperia on Sunday morning, August 28, 2022.

Firefighters from the San Bernardino County Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to the collision at around 8:40 a.m. on Highway 138 between Summit Valley Road and Highway 173.

According to the CHP traffic log, an unknown vehicle and two motorcycle riders made contact for an unspecified reason.

One medical helicopter was requested by the rescue crews to transport one of the two passengers.

The rider was taken from the scene to Loma Linda University Medical Center by Mercy Air #22.

According to reports, one adult patient did not survive his injuries, and another adult rider received treatment and was taken in critical condition to a nearby hospital.

The California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Inland Office is still investigating the crash.
