Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics
The state’s booming economy is directly causing an increase in traffic accidents. In 2010, 3,304 people lost their lives in traffic-related incidents, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
But there are many risks involved in driving in California. If the drivers involved had been more careful, those incidents could have been avoided. Human error accounts for over 94% of all accidents.
Injuries sustained in car accidents can range from extremely unpleasant to fatal. Unfortunately, because of how often accidents occur, many drivers have become desensitized to the risks they face while behind the wheel.
When three or more cars are involved in an accident, it’s called a multi-vehicle collision. Should two vehicles collide head-on, a pileup involving six cars is possible.
According to a recent National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, over 13,000 people were killed in accidents involving multiple vehicles in 2010.
Contra Costa County Car Accident Lawyers
When there are only two vehicles involved, prosecuting the drivers is easier. When multiple vehicles are involved in an accident, finding a solution can take more time.
Identifying the cause becomes more problematic. Multiple people could have been hurt if two or more cars had collided.
Putting your faith in an insurance company could be a mistake if the facts surrounding the origin of a multi-car crash remain unclear.
Expecting an insurance company to settle your claim quickly is unrealistic, as doing so would be detrimental to their bottom line.
