[08-29-2022] Pedestrian Killed in hit-and-run in OxnardA 40-year-old Carlos Rangel F. died from a hit-and-run accident in Oxnard early Monday, August 29, 2022.

According to Oxnard Police Department Cpl. Mike Wood, a caller reported a person shortly after 1 a.m. down in the street near Ventura Road and Ninth Street.

The victim was discovered by police and emergency medical workers with substantial injuries, indicating he had been hit by a vehicle.

Flores was transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center, where he died.

According to Wood, police believe the car, probably a sedan, was going southbound on Ventura Road at the time.

Wood added that the car might have front bumper damage near the license plate.

The crash remains under investigation.
