According to the California Highway Patrol, a 60-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision with a suspected DUI on Whittier Boulevard Thursday, September 1, 2022.
The crash occurred just before 11:20 p.m. at 6506 Whittier Blvd., near Via Del Oro Street.
The California Highway Patrol says that later, a woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while drunk in connection with the death.
On the spot, the man was said to be dead. His name wasn’t released until his next of kin were told.
Investigators with the CHP found that a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu left the accident scene and was followed by a witness northbound on Garfield Avenue. This is where the vehicle was located, and 35-year-old Lilibeth G. was arrested.
The reason for the crash is still being looked into.
