A woman was critically injured after crashing her bicycle and was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in the Santa Ynez Valley Friday, September 2, 2022.
The collision occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. at Ballard Canyon and Chalk Hill roads.
Due to the severity of his head injury, the victim, who was 45 years old, was initially transported to the Santa Ynez Airport by ground ambulance and then flown to the hospital by a helicopter from the county’s Air Support Unit.
There was no information available about her name or condition at the time.
The investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash.
