According to police, a man was injured after a pedestrian crash involving two vehicles and washed away in Cathedral City on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
The accident happened at the Ramon Road and Canyon Vista Road intersection around 6 a.m.
The male pedestrian was discovered dead by the Cathedral City Fire Department.
Authorities reported that during the dark hours of Ramon Road, an eastbound vehicle struck a pedestrian who had crossed the street without using a crosswalk.
After stopping, the driver dialed 911. The driver saw a second car hit the pedestrian and drive away while on the phone with 911. The first car’s driver remained on the scene and assisted law enforcement.
A light gray or silver SUV was identified as the evading vehicle. There was no further explanation.
