Fatal Car Crash Statistics

Many people are killed in single-vehicle accidents each year in California.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data shows that approximately 62% of fatal car accidents in California involve only one vehicle. A California driver’s vigilance is required due to the high number of potential threats on the road.

There are many potential contributors to single-vehicle accidents. An off-road collision or a runaway car could result from reckless driving on a slippery road, such as increasing your speed or making a sharp turn. It’s possible that something as large as a branch or other debris from the truck’s back washed up on the side of the road. This may also contribute to hazardous driving conditions.

Despite the other driver’s negligence, your ability to recover from a single-vehicle accident may be severely limited by your insurance policy’s coverage plan.
