Motorcycle Crash Statistics
Motorcycle riders are more likely to be injured on the road than drivers in private vehicles. When a motorbike and a vehicle crash, the rider of the motorcycle is nearly always seriously hurt.
While collisions between motor vehicles accounted for fewer than half of all fatalities, they caused 77% of all injuries.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) 2015 study found that driver error is the major cause of 94 % of crashes. Drivers who drive carelessly or recklessly violate their duty to other motorists to operate their vehicles responsibly.
Though no road is without the possibility of an accident, certain areas are significantly more dangerous than others, which is worsened by variables such as traffic congestion and poorly constructed or maintained highways.
