[09-08-2022] Flight Instructor and Student Killed After Small Plane Crashes in Santa MonicaAccording to the police, two people died after a plane crashed at the Santa Monica Airport on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

According to the Fire officials, the crash transpired around 4:25 p.m. at the Santa Monica Airport.

The FAA said it was a Piper Sport with one engine. A flight instructor and a student on board both died at the scene.

The fire trucks and the burned-out parts of an airplane were on the tarmac.

Investigators from the NTSB said the plane flew north along the coast of Malibu, which is a common way to start a flight. The aircraft was then permitted to land at Santa Monica Airport on runway 21.

The Santa Monica Fire Department said, When the plane touched down, it was on its way to the airport. It then quickly went up before crashing.

Santa Monica Fliers, a flight school in the area, owned and flew the plane.

No one knows why the plane went down. The names of the two people who died in the crash have not been made public.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will look into it.
