Motorcycle Accident Statistics
Motorcycles are less safe than other vehicles because they are less steady and visible to other drivers.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), motorcycle riders are 26 times more likely to die than automobile passengers and five times more likely to be injured in a traffic accident.
According to data, about 13,000 motorcycle riders are injured in California accidents yearly. In addition, almost 2,300 motorcycle accidents resulted in serious injuries and 474 motorcycle deaths in 2019.
Motorcyclists are asked to take precautionary measures to avoid accidents. Wearing protective equipment, including a helmet and strong clothes, can lower the chance of injury in an accident.
