[09-08-2023] 2 People Hospitalized Following Solo-Vehicle Collision in MalibuTwo people were hospitalized after their vehicle crashed down a canyon hillside in Malibu on Friday morning, September 8, 2023.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to a crash reported by bystanders in the 2300 block of Las Flores Canyon Road at around 12:23 a.m.

Upon arrival, authorities located a vehicle 100 feet down an embankment, along with good Samaritans willing to help. Fortunately, the pair survived the crash. However, at least one was reported to be in critical condition.

A helicopter was needed to rescue the victims. It took two attempts to transport the first victim from the wreckage, while the second victim was accompanied by LACFD personnel to the hovering helicopter.

No further information was released regarding the victims’ identities or what caused the crash, pending an investigation.
