DUI Accident Statistics

A DUI accident is a car accident that involves a driver who is intoxicated by alcohol or drugs. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is extremely dangerous and puts the driver at risk, their passengers, and anyone else who shares the road.

Thousands of people are injured or killed in accidents involving a DUI driver every year. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drunk driving accidents accounted for 28% of all traffic fatalities in 2018. Driving while under the influence is not only illegal, but it is also irresponsible and reckless.

The best way to avoid such devastating consequences is to drive sober and never get behind the wheel after drinking. Not only will this help to keep you safe, but it will also help to protect innocent people from being hurt by a drunk driver. If you’re going to drink, make sure you have a designated driver.
