[09-10-2022] 17-Year-Old Girl Killed, Three Other Teens Injured in Suspected DUI Crash in BakersfieldAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old was killed in an off-road collision involving four other teenagers and a 2021 Polaris RZR off-road vehicle north of East Panama Road on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

According to CHP officers, the accident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. north of East Panama Road and to the east of Mod Way.

A 17-year-old Lamont boy was driving the car in a dirt field when he unintentionally hit a concrete culvert because of the speed at which he was traveling.

The four people inside the car were all taken to Kern Medical.

Major injuries to the driver and a 14-year-old girl required hospitalization. A 17-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was declared dead from her injuries after the accident at the hospital. A 13-year-old girl suffered minor injuries.

According to the CHP report, alcohol seems to have played a role in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
