[09-11-2022] Two Children Killed, Several Others Injured in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Near HanfordAccording to the California Highway Patrol, two children were reportedly killed, and three others are in critical condition following a fatal crash near Hanford on Sunday, September 11, 2022.

The crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. on State Route 41 south of Quebec Avenue.

Emma F., 29, a Seaside native, was traveling south on State Route 41 in her gray 2006 Honda Odyssey at a speed of 55 mph while carrying her four children.

According to CHP, a white 2018 Honda operated by a 19-year-old man was traveling north at a speed of 65 to 75 mph.

According to CHP, the driver of the white Honda moved into the southbound lane and started passing cars at 80 to 85 mph.

The white Honda then collided with Figueroa’s grey Honda while they were both traveling south.

The collision caused the teen’s death. The CHP reported that three of Figueroa’s children in the car also suffered serious injuries, and one of them died in the collision.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.

Figueroa’s friends reported that another of her children passed away in a hospital.

According to a gofundme page for the family, the deceased children were an 8-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy who belonged to Emma.

The family says Figueroa and her other two kids will be fine.
