[09-14-2022] Colusa County, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision Results in One Death on Interstate 5

One person died after a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 on Wednesday afternoon, September 14, 2022.

The collision transpired around 12:30 p.m. northbound on Interstate 5 south of Maxwell.

The 54-year-old woman was driving at an unknown speed.

According to the press release, Kaifeng Xhang, 30, of Houston, was in the adjacent lane of southbound traffic at the time of the collision.

He applied his brakes aggressively but could not avoid hitting the unidentified driver’s vehicle.

Xhang struck the car and stopped it in the middle of the road.

According to CHP officials, I-5 was closed for about two hours and twenty minutes due to the collision.
