Two-Vehicle Crash Statistics
When it comes to injuries that require hospitalization, car accidents are by far the most common cause. In the United States, nearly two million people sustain injuries every year due to automobile collisions.
Unfortunately, a disproportionate number of these tragedies occur in the Golden State. Over 200,000 Americans are injured in car accidents annually.
Riverside ranks high in terms of its size as the state’s fourth most populous county. It’s one of the riskiest regions in the country for motorists.
In the Riverside region of California in 2017, 2,119 people were injured or lost their lives due to car accidents. The 91, 215, and 60 freeways, as well as city streets like Jurupa Avenue and Wells Avenue, were all involved in these accidents.
Drunk driving, distracted driving, high speeds, and other serious violations of traffic laws are major contributors to these incidents.
The fact that most of these catastrophes could have been avoided only adds insult to injury. Approximately 80% of traffic accidents have a distracted driver as a contributing factor.
