The collision was reported just before 4:00 p.m. in Oakland.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the motorcycle rider lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a metal fence. The impact breached the barrier, and the person fell 25 feet onto the tracks below. Soon after, the motorcyclist was hit by a train.

The rider’s identity has not been made public.

Bay Area Rapid Transit experienced significant service delays due to the collision.
