The Ceres man was driving south on Highway 99 in the first lane, just north of Shaw Avenue, on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. He didn’t see an object in the road that was right in his path, hit it, and lost control.
The rider was in the third travel lane when she was struck by a Toyota Corolla model year 2017 driven by a woman who was 28 years old.
The man from Ceres was taken to the Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, but he did not survive his injuries and passed away there.
The individual who was driving the Toyota was not hurt in the accident. There was no information available regarding the victim’s name.
As the toxicology test results come in, the California Highway Patrol will continue its investigation into the collision to determine whether or not alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
