Local authorities reported that a motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in Long Beach on Friday night, September 16, 2022.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash occurred just before 9:17 p.m. at the intersection of 19th Street and Atlantic Avenue.
Witnesses came to the man’s aid right away after he was struck
According to the police, firefighters from Long Beach transported the man to a nearby hospital, where his injuries were deemed fatal.
A 2014 Toyota Tundra is said to have pulled out in front of the motorcyclist as he was reportedly traveling southbound on Atlantic Avenue near 19th Street and making a left turn from eastbound 19th Street to northbound Atlantic Avenue.
According to police, the motorcycle was unable to avoid the Toyota, and the collision occurred.
The rider’s identity was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
A 59-year-old Long Beach resident operated the truck. Police stated that they did not think the truck driver’s use of drugs, alcohol, or distraction contributed to the collision.
