Car Crash Statistics

Every year, thousands of people in California are killed in single-vehicle collisions.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about 62% of fatal collisions in California involve only one vehicle. There are a lot of hazards on the road in California, so drivers need to be vigilant at all times.

Single-car crashes can be caused by a wide variety of factors. An off-road collision or a runaway car can result from reckless driving on a slippery road, such as increasing speed or making a sharp turn. The roadside may have been littered with a tree limb or other large pieces of debris that had washed ashore. It’s possible that this will also worsen traffic conditions.

The coverage plan of your insurance policy may place severe limitations on your ability to recover damages in the event of a single-vehicle accident, even if the other driver’s negligence was a contributing factor.
