[09-21-2022] San Diego County, CA – Woman Seriously Injured in a Sideswipe Accident in Balboa Park

A 31-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured when she was hit by a pickup vehicle in Balboa Park on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

The lady rode a 2020 Ducati motorbike around 2:20 p.m. westbound on 1900 Pershing Drive.

According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), a 75-year-old man driving a 2015 GMC pickup truck failed to see and sideswiped the female.

According to the SDPD, officers rushed to the incident and cleared the scene as a minor injury accident when the woman just complained of soreness. The truck driver was not hurt.

SDPD officers did a medical follow-up and discovered the woman had suffered a pelvic fracture. The SDPD Traffic Division was alerted, and the crash is being investigated.
