One man died following a car accident in Tulare County on Wednesday evening, September 21, 2022.
The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. on Highway 63 in Orosi, just north of Avenue 413.
California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian.
Officers found a man in a Chevy Equinox traveling south on Highway 63 when they got to the scene.
A 60-year-old man crossed the street in front of the Chevy Equinox, according to the police.
The man driving the Chevy could not see the man walking and could not avoid him because of the darkness.
The Chevy struck the pedestrian, knocking him back onto the road and into the air.
According to the police, major wounds were present, and the victim was declared dead there.
The man was not crossing at a crosswalk or intersection.
The crash is still under investigation, and the Chevy driver was unharmed.
