Multi-Vehicle Statistics

A multi-vehicle collision is a car accident involving more than one vehicle. Multi-vehicle accidents are typical on roadways when hundreds of cars travel at high speeds near one another. This makes it impossible for many cars approaching an accident to stop safely, potentially colliding with other vehicles.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 307 people were killed in multi-vehicle crashes in California in 2019. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 62% of heavy truck passengers killed in multiple-vehicle deaths in 2018 were in crashes with another large truck.

Hundreds of people have been killed in traffic accidents in the city alone. However, certain locations are more impacted than others. Practicing caution near these major crossroads can lessen your chances of being involved in a terrible accident.
