An unidentified man, 73, died in an accident on Highway 108/120 between Knights Ferry and Jamestown on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
According to reports, the mishap transpired around 4 p.m. west of Rushing Hills Lookout Road.
According to the CHP, the man was traveling east in a 2007 Chevrolet pickup when he failed to navigate a right-hand curve.
The pickup veered off the road and across both eastbound lanes of traffic before flipping over onto the right shoulder, hitting a dirt barrier on the left shoulder.
The Jamestown resident driving it was trapped inside when it came to rest on its left side.
Unfortunately, the man died on the scene, according to the emergency personnel.
His family has not yet been informed, so his name has been withheld.
The accident’s origin is still under investigation.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered contributing factors, and the driver wore a seat belt.
