According to the Costa Mesa Fire Department, at least one person died following a fiery car crash in Costa Mesa early Friday morning, September 23, 2022.
According to the Costa Mesa Fire Department firefighters, the deadly car fire occurred just after 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of 17th Street and Newport Boulevard.
The firefighters arrived on the scene to find the vehicle engulfed in flames. The fire was put out almost as soon as the firefighters arrived on the scene, and they also reduced the fuel lost to the blaze.
The investigators are looking into how the vehicle could have broken down. Despite this, an investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing.
