Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics
Every year in California, a shockingly high number of people die in accidents with only one car.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that 62% of all traffic deaths in California happen in one-car accidents. In California, many things could distract you while you’re driving.
A crash with just one car can happen for many different reasons. When the roads are wet, sharp turns and high speeds make accidents and runaways more likely.
There might be trash on the road, like a tree branch or something falling off a truck.
Even if the single-car accident wasn’t your fault or the fault of another driver, the terms of your insurance policy might still limit how much you can get back for the costs of the accident.
