[09-25-2022] 18-Year-Old Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Quartz HillAccording to police, an 18-year-old man was fatally struck while crossing busy lanes of traffic in Quartz Hill on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

The crash occurred just after 10:05 p.m. on West Avenue L just west of 42nd Street West, close to Prime Desert Woodland Preserve.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 52-year-old man driving westbound struck the man as he was crossing.

The victim was declared dead by the paramedics who responded to the scene.

His identity was not disclosed pending notification of his family, but the CHP noted that he was a Lancaster resident.

According to the CHP, drugs, and alcohol were not factors in the collision because the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
