[09-25-2022] Three People Killed, Two Others Seriously Injured in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Near DavisThree people were left dead and two others with severe injuries in an early morning fatal head-on collision on Interstate 80 in Solano County on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol was called at 3:13 a.m., just outside of Davis.

According to police, a Hyundai sedan was struck by an Infiniti sedan that was traveling on the wrong side of the road.

The driver and a 27-year-old passenger in the Infiniti died, and two other passengers were taken to UC Davis Medical Center with serious injuries. The collision also claimed the life of the Hyundai’s 30-year-old driver.

The coroner’s office stated that no information identifying the victims was available as of Sunday morning.

Although it is currently unknown how the Infiniti entered the freeway the wrong way, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) believes alcohol may have played a role in this crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
