[09-26-2022] Placer County, CA – One Person was Killed and Another was hospitalized Following a Fatal Collision with a Union Pacific Train in Lincoln

According to the Lincoln Police Department, one person died and another was hospitalized after a collision involving a Union Pacific train in Lincoln on Monday, September 26, 2022.

In a press release, police stated that the collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. close to the juncture of Ferrari Ranch Road and Lincoln Boulevard.

The vehicle was traveling south on Ferrari Ranch Road when a northbound train struck it, sliding it down the tracks until it landed in the Auburn Ravine area.

When law enforcement and emergency personnel arrived, an adult driver and a young passenger were present.

The adult was given life-saving measures, but, according to the press release, they passed away at the scene from their wounds. They took the child to the UC Davis Trauma Center.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing together with Lincoln Police and Union Pacific.
