[09-27-2022] Ventura County, CA – 68-Year-Old Oxnard Man Dead After Being Struck by Train in Oxnard

According to the Oxnard Police Department, a 68-year-old Oxnard man died after being hit by a train in Oxnard on Tuesday evening, September 27, 2022.

The crash occurred at around 7:45 p.m. in the area of Oxnard Boulevard and Wagon Wheel Road.

On the collision scene between an Amtrak train and a pedestrian in Oxnard were the Oxnard Fire Department members, emergency medical services personnel, and police officers.

According to Police Commander Rocky Marquez, the preliminary investigation revealed that a train was moving in a southerly direction when it hit a pedestrian on the tracks. The train company provided this information.

Marquez stated that it is a mystery why the pedestrian was on the train tracks and added that he was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
