[10-01-2022] Two Police Officers Injured in DUI Crash in OaklandTwo police officers were injured after a suspect’s car struck them in Oakland on Saturday night, October 1, 2022.

The crash occurred just before 10:00 p.m. in the 5200 block of Wentworth Street.

According to Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong, the Oakland police were attempting to apprehend a drunk driver inside a car.

According to Armstrong, the suspect struck the police as he was leaving. One was taken to a hospital after suffering a head injury.

The chief reported that the officer had since been released.

The other policeman was not hospitalized.
