[10-01-2023] 24-Year-Old Male Passenger Killed Following Semi-Truck Rollover Crash in ButtonwillowOne male passenger was killed after a semi-truck crashed and rolled over in Buttonwillow, Kern County, on Sunday afternoon, October 1, 2023.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash around 3:05 p.m. along Main Drain Road, north of 7th Standard Road.

The initial investigation revealed that 24-year-old Michael G. was the passenger of a fuel truck that crashed after its driver lost control. He was declared dead on the scene when officials arrived.

The authorities did not provide any information concerning the driver’s condition, nor did they say whether the driver was hospitalized.

The reason for the crash and why the driver lost control of the semi-truck are still under investigation.
