[10-03-2022] Two-Vehicle Crash Shutdowns Multiple Lanes and Injured Several People in OaklandAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a two-vehicle collision resulted in major injuries and a shut down of multiple lanes in the eastbound direction on the Bay Bridge early Monday morning, October 3, 2022.

The crash occurred at about 2:40 a.m. at the eastbound Interstate 80 on Bay Bridge in San Francisco, Oakland.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the eastbound Interstate 80 only had access to its No. 3 lane, also known as the middle lane.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision between the two vehicles occurred after one of the vehicles had come to a stop or stalled, and the other vehicle struck it.

It was unclear how many people had been injured due to the accident.

According to the CHP, the vehicles were blocking the lanes on both the right and left sides of the bridge, which meant that only the middle road was available for traffic.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
