[10-04-2022] Pedestrian Lying on the Road Killed After Being Hit by a Car Near Las Plumas High SchoolAccording to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a man lying on the road died after being hit by a vehicle near Las Plumas High School on Tuesday morning, October 04, 2022.

Officers responded at about 5:30 a.m. to Las Plumas Avenue, west of Wyandotte Road.

According to the CHP, two drivers pulled over and activated their hazard lights to call 911.

Officers discovered Zachary B. driving a Nissan east on Las Plumas Avenue at approximately 25 mph.

According to officers, Beyer continued driving in the center median and passed the stopped vehicles. According to the CHP, he hit the man who was lying on the road by doing so.

The man died at the scene.

Beyer was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He was not detained.

The deceased man’s identity will be released when the family member is notified.

The crash is still being investigated.
