[10-04-2022] Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Highway 35 in PacificaAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash involving a pedestrian blocked Highway 35 and Hickey Boulevard in Pacifica early Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

The crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. at Highway 35 and Hickey Boulevard in Pacifica.

There was a delay in releasing information regarding the extent of the injuries and the number of people involved.

The collision and subsequent investigation snarled traffic through the heavily traveled intersection in San Mateo County, which is used by commuters traveling between the bay side and the coast side of the county.

Pacifica police and the California Highway Patrol were investigating the collision. The CHP stated that Highway 35 between Hickey Drive and King Drive would be closed in both directions until approximately 9:00 a.m. due to the investigation.

The police have advised motorists to seek alternative routes and stay away from the area.

The investigators are still trying to determine what caused the collision.
