According to the local news, they identified the woman who died in the collision as Linda M., 73, of San Juan Bautista on Highway 246 near Buellton on Wednesday afternoon, October 5, 2022.
Another 73-year-old woman was injured moderately and taken by ambulance to another hospital.

According to the California Highway Patrol, three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash between Buellton and Solvang on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
The collision transpired shortly after 1:00 p.m. in an area referred to as Buellton Flats on Highway 246 between Buellton and Solvang.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a car that had been stopped along the highway pulled out in an attempt to make a U-turn, clipping a Honda CRV and causing it to crash into a tree. The driver of the Honda CRV reported the accident.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the driver of the CRV was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by a bystander before being transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
According to reports, one of the passengers in the vehicle sustained moderate injuries.
According to officials from the fire department, the driver of the other vehicle suffered relatively minor injuries. There was no further information that was known at the time.
