[10-11-2022] A 50-Year-Old Woman Fatally Died After a Hit-and-Run Accident in AntiochAccording to local news, a 50-year-old woman suffered severe injuries after a hit-and-run accident in Antioch on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

The mishap transpired around 11:05 p.m. in the south area of Contra Loma Boulevard and Buchanan Road.

Officers from Antioch arrived on the scene at around 11:08 p.m. and discovered a 50-year-old woman who was seriously injured.

At the intersection of Contra Loma Boulevard and Buchanan Road, local authorities discovered during the investigation that the victim was crossing the street heading west.

Before the woman could cross the street safely to the other side of the road, a car traveling southbound on Contra Loma Boulevard struck her as she was in the crosswalk.

With the assistance of additional emergency medical services that arrived on the scene to help, officers started life-saving procedures immediately.

Sadly, the victim took them to a hospital in the neighborhood, where she was later pronounced dead.

Further details about the accident are still under investigation.
