[10-14-2022] 44-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-And-Run Crash in OaklandAccording to the authorities, a 44-year-old man was killed when a hit-and-run driver crashed into his vehicle in Oakland Friday, October 14, 2022.

The hit-and-run crash occurred Friday afternoon at 69th Avenue and San Leandro Boulevard.

Officers were reportedly on the hunt for 23-year-old Jonathan H., who is suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run accident, as stated by the Chief of Police for the Oakland Police Department, LeRonne Armstrong.

The suspect lost control of his vehicle and collided with a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by a man who was 44 years old while he was pursuing Hernandez’s vehicle.

According to Armstrong, the driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. His name is not being made public at this time.

“It’s a shame,” said Chief Armstrong. “It’s unfortunate.” “Our deepest condolences go out to the bereaved family and friends of the individual who passed away. Yet another act of senseless violence that could have been prevented.”

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
