[10-14-2022] One Person Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 5According to the California Highway Patrol, a 49-year-old man identified as Gilbert M. was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 on Friday, October 14, 2022.

The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 from the Chard Avenue overpass.

According to the CHP, Morga of Gerber is believed to have leaped onto the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 from the Chard Avenue overpass.

At least one known vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Corolla, struck Morga at the same time while it was moving north on the I-5.

According to preliminary findings, Mr. Morga’s jump from the overpass resulted in fatal injuries for him.

According to CHP, the #2 northbound lane was shut down for an investigation for around 1.5 hours.

At this moment, it is not believed that any of the parties involved are impaired.

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office continues to look into Mr. Morga’s death. CHP Red Bluff Area is looking into the subsequent collision.
