[10-17-2022] Unidentified Pedestrian Severely Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in ReddingAccording to the Redding Police Department, an unidentified pedestrian suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Redding Monday morning, October 17, 2022.

According to the authorities, the collision transpired just before 10:15 a.m. at East Street and South Street.

According to the information provided by the police department, two individuals strolling north on East Street with a dog did so while crossing South Street within a marked crosswalk.

Officers reported that the driver of a 2015 Toyota Prius C failed to see the two pedestrians and the dog crossing the street before making a left turn onto eastbound South Street.

One patient with life-threatening injuries was transported to the hospital. According to the police, their condition has remained unchanged.

Both the other person and the dog escaped injury unscathed. According to the police, drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to factor in this incident.

The investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
