According to the California Highway Patrol, at least one person was injured in a two-vehicle rollover collision in National City Sunday, October 23, 2022.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:29 a.m. Southbound Interstate-805 from the Plaza Blvd On-Ramp in National City.
The male driver of the red Volvo claimed to the CHP officers that he was trying to merge onto southbound I-805 from the Plaza Blvd on-ramp.
He claimed that the male driver of the Honda refused to let him merge, leading to a collision between the two vehicles.
The Volvo’s driver lost control and careened off the road, up the embankment, and into some bushes.
After flipping over at least four times, the Volvo crashed onto the highway, where it struck the Honda’s driver before coming to rest on top of the latter vehicle.
The Honda driver was taken to the emergency room, where the extent of their injuries is still being determined. It looked like the Volvo’s driver had been hurt.
The California Highway Patrol is currently looking into this.
