[10-25-2023] Butte County, CA – 47-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed Following Vehicle Collision on Highway 70 in Oroville

A 47-year-old male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Oroville on Wednesday night, October 25, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on the northbound lanes of Highway 70, north of Georgia Pacific Way, before 10:00 p.m.

Authorities said Plumas Lake resident Shawn P. was driving a Ford F-150 when he struck the 47-year-old Oroville man wearing dark clothing while crossing the road.

The victim was killed in the collision, while the Ford driver remained at the scene and stated that he did not see the victim in time to avoid hitting him.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until the next of kin is notified. An investigation is being conducted to determine what caused the crash.
