[10-28-2022] A 44-Year-Old Worker Died After an Explosion in ChicoA 44-year-old worker died after a blast crash near Chico International Airport, identified as Jesse G., of Auburn, California, in Chico on Friday, October 27, 2022.

The explosion happened around 4 p.m., and officers responded to Boeing Avenue, close to Hiller Avenue.

Police reported that they discovered Goforth unconscious next to a concrete pumping truck. At the scene, Goforth was identified as deceased.

Police stated that although the cause of the explosion is still under investigation, it appears that a clogged pipe from the cement truck was to blame.

Officers told Action News Now that they thought the man was a Cohasset Widening Project construction worker.

There were no additional wounds.
