[10-30-2022] Siskiyou County, CA - 37-year-Old Fatally Killed in A Two-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 5The California Highway Patrol reported that a 37-year-old Grover Beach wrong-way driver was killed in a collision on Interstate 5 on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

The CHP reported that a 911 call about a two-vehicle crash on southbound I-5 north of the Grenada Irrigation District overcrossing arrived at its Yreka dispatch center at 9:18 p.m.

Before the collision, the caller claimed On the freeway, one of the cars was going in the opposite direction.

According to CHP officers, a gray 2017 Honda CR-V traveling the wrong way struck a 2023 Ford E-450 U-Haul van directly in the left lane.

According to the investigations, the Honda CR-V was moving north in the southbound lanes of I-5.

Unfortunately, the Honda CR-V driver died at the scene.

Authorities took the two people inside the U-Haul to a hospital for treatment after they sustained moderate injuries.

The police are looking into the collision. According to the CHP, it is currently unknown whether alcohol played a role.
