[11-04-2022] Alameda County, CA – One Pedestrian Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 880 in Hayward

Authorities reported a pedestrian was killed in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 880 in Hayward early Friday morning, November 4, 2022.

The deadly collision occurred around 3:24 a.m. in Hayward’s center divider south of the A Street off-ramp.

Officers then passed a gray Ford in the gore point. The Ford occupant said it was struck by something that jumped out in front of it and turned out to be a person.

Another woman was found and put on a psychiatric hold when police arrived.

Upon arrival at the scene, the victim was declared dead.

It is unclear whether the woman died due to the collision and her identity was not immediately available.

Investigation of the fatal crash is still underway.
