Hit-And-Run Collision Statistics
It is against the law to leave the scene of an accident. In the United States, a hit-and-run accident occurs every day. At least 2,000 people have perished in hit-and-run incidents in the US since 2006.
Unfortunately, hit-and-run incidents are happening more frequently. Hit-and-run drivers contributed to a 7% rise in fatalities between 2009 and 2016. The rising number of traffic fatalities that cannot be attributed to intentional acts is significantly influenced by increased hit-and-run accidents.
During this time, California had the highest number of hit-and-run accidents. Three thousand five hundred and sixty-six people were killed in traffic accidents in California alone in 2012.
Being seriously injured in a car accident is terrifying. It might worsen if the other driver doesn’t halt and take responsibility.
Due to their impairment, illegal driving, or fear of arrest, these individuals are more likely to flee the scene of an accident.
