[11-06-2022] Multi-Vehicle Collision Injures San Francisco Author and Two More near McLaren ParkThree people, including writer and artist Paul Madonna, were severely injured after a multi-vehicle and hit-and-run collision in San Francisco on Sunday, November 6, 2022.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the crash near McLaren Park injured Madonna, known for his comic strip All Over Coffee, and two more.

Madonna was traveling through McLaren Park on his SmartCar, a route he took daily to go home when a wrong-way Mercedes Benz driving at 65 mph hit him head-on.

The authorities provided no additional details on what exactly happened, especially with the other vehicle.

Madonna was transported to SF General’s Trauma Center, where he underwent emergency surgery for severe internal injuries. The other victims were reportedly hospitalized, but their conditions and identities remain unclear.

Madonna is expected to recover fully, although he will require extensive rehabilitation due to the severity of his wounds.

According to the SFPD, the driver of one of the cars involved fled the scene on foot.

The investigation continues, and no one has been taken into custody yet. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
